Alfie and Ngaio

“Alfie is very important to us.”

Petraveller flew lovely Maltese, Alfie, from Melbourne to Christchurch. Pet mommy Ngaio talks about her sweet doggy and explains why chose Petraveller for precious Alfie’s international pet transport to Christchurch.

Alfie was abandoned twice within four years, and when he went to the RSPCA for the second time, he became very withdrawn. Ngaio recalls, “We saw Alfie when a friend who worked as a vet at the RSPCA sent us his photos. We fell in love with Alfie immediately, and he has been in our family for four years now. He is very important to us.” She adds, “ Alfie never even felt grass before he came to us and had never gone on a walk as he lived in a crate in an apartment, on the balcony.”

Ngaio elaborates on her pet’s temperament. She says, “Alfie is very spoiled and struggles with being separated from us. He is a very nervous little man, but if cuddles are being given out, he will accept them willingly. Alfie needs to meet people at eye level to feel comfortable with the person.”

Ngaio is very affectionate with Alfie. She shares, “Alfie is a real cuddly boy. If you sit on the floor with him, he will go and sit in your lap. He has a thing about people, that once he knows you and if you decide to leave him, he will bark and run around in circles, trying to keep you with him. Once he gets to know someone, he will talk to them in his own funny way.”

Ngaio was moving back to her home town in Christchurch, New Zealand, to be closer to her family. “We will semi-retire and enjoy our life travelling in New Zealand with our little boy,” says Ngaio.
