Alfie, Mary and Jess

Sydney to Auckland

Trip Overview

Owner: Jess Mitchell

Origin: Sydney

Pet Names: Alfie and Mary

Destination: Auckland

Breed: Cavoodle and Border Collie X

“Alfie is a bit bossy and Mary is very easy going.”

Here’s the relocation story of top dog Cavoodle Alfie and excitable Border Collie cross Mary as they travel from Sydney to Auckland with Petraveller.

Jessica brought Alfie home when he was nine weeks old from a woman in Greenacre, NSW. Jessica says, “The woman owned both the mother (a Cavoodle) and the father (a Poodle).”

Later, Jessica brought Mary home when Mary was eight weeks old from a breeder in Lithgow, NSW. Jessica says fondly, “Alfie and Mary are part of our family. Our weekends revolve around taking them to different dog parks, and we take them on holidays with us. Alfie has been as far north as Brisbane, and both dogs have been as far south as the Snowy Mountains.”

Jessica talks about Alfie’s temperament. She says, “As the older dog, Alfie can be a bit bossy. He thinks he is the top dog and will sometimes bark at the bigger dogs at the park to let them know. Despite this, he is generally very well behaved and likes to snuggle up on the couch in the evening.”

Mary, on the other hand, has a lovely nature. Jessica smiles and says, “Mary is very easy going and loves getting pats and cuddles. She is quite excitable as she is still pretty young and has a lot of energy that she likes to burn off doing zoomies at the park.” She adds, “Everyone always comments how good Mary is, including the groomer and the dog walker.”

Alfie and Mary both get on very well together and love playing at the park and chasing each other around the house. Jessica shares, “They are fine when left home alone while we are at work, but they get a bit anxious if left outside shops or in the car for a short period of time.”

After living in Australia for ten years, Jessica and her partner were moving to Auckland, New Zealand. “It was never a consideration to not bring our dogs with us,” says Jessica.

Jessica searched for a reliable international pet relocation company to help relocate her pets safely to Auckland. She requested quotes from a few pet transport companies when she first started planning the move. She says, “Petraveller was the most professional and responsive company. The travel proposal that was sent put me at ease and convinced me that Petraveller was the best option.”

Alfie and Mary had a smooth flight and were well-mannered passengers. Thank you, Jessica, for reaching out to Petraveller for Alfie and Mary’s relocation. We wish you fun, laughter and many adventures with Alfie and Mary out there in Auckland.
