Archie, Hugo and Rebecca

Rebecca and her beautiful dogs Archie and Hugo have the unique distinction of being Petraveller’s very first international relocation and have travelled to several countries since. Here’s pet mum Rebecca talking about her pets and their pet travel experiences with Petraveller.

Rebecca brought Archie and Hugo home when they were little puppies. She recalls, “It was love at first sight with both Archie and Hugo; I just couldn’t resist their cuteness. I can still remember their puppy faces running up to me. And that was the beginning of our family.”

Archie and Hugo are Mama’s boys and are extremely attached to Rebecca. She says affectionately, “It doesn't matter what kind of day I have had at work, my dogs will always be waiting for me when I get home. Their excitement to see me is always heartwarming. As soon as I drive up the driveway, they are already barking and waiting at the door for me.”

Hugo is a lapdog who loves affection, and is happiest when the family is together. Rebecca says fondly, “We call Hugo ‘Gordinho’, which means Little Fatty in Portuguese. He’s very lazy and enjoys his food. When we are all comfortably together, he loves to sit right in the middle of us.”

Archie loves his own space and will come to you on his own terms. Rebecca says, “Archie is very active and loves to chase a ball. However, he has separation anxiety from his Mama and will wait by the front door until I come home.”

Archie and Hugo are a big part of Rebecca’s family. She explains, “We have relocated a number of times, and my dogs have joined us every step of the way. Without them, I don't feel like the family is complete. I also like that they are well-travelled and have explored the world just as we have.”

The DeBrincat family are avid travellers and have travelled the world with their adorable doggies. Archie and Hugo have travelled from Australia to Brazil, Brazil to Malta, Malta to Australia and now from Australia to Vietnam. Petraveller helped fly them to Brazil, back from Brazil to Australia and their latest relocation to Vietnam. Not only are Archie and Hugo Petraveller’s favourite repeat customers, they also have the unique distinction of being Petraveller’s very first international relocation.

Rebecca remembers her pets’ very first relocation with Petraveller, “I knew I was Petraveller’svery first customer and this did not worry me because I knew there was something different about them and I wasn't wrong. Petraveller worked very closely with me to ensure all my needs as well as the dogs’ needs were met. I received pictures, email updates and even a phone call when I had the dogs in hand. This was proof of how much Petraveller cares for the transport of animals. They also prepared the travel crates and had this sent to our home for them to get used to before they travelled. I thought this was a brilliant idea to make the dogs familiar with their transport crate.” 

Rebecca explains why she has always chosen Petraveller to help with Archie and Hugo’s relocation, “I called a number of pet relocation companies before I stumbled upon Petraveller. When I spoke to them, I knew there was something different about the company. I felt a sense of reassurance and it calmed me. Sending your pet abroad can be a very daunting experience. I didn't just want them to be sent like a parcel, I needed to know that they would be taken care of and be involved in their journey. I got exactly that and more from Petraveller. I wouldn't trust anyone else to assist me in this process.”

Rebecca and the dogs are experienced international travellers, having travelled to so many countries together. Rebecca reminiscesabout when the dogs travelled to Brazil for the first time, “Seeing my babies arrive in Brazil for the first time was unforgettable for me. I was in Brazil before them to set up, and I was without them for almost three months, the longest I have ever gone without them. While I was waiting for them to clear customs, I could see them and I called out their names. I had tears running down my face and was almost jumping over the barrier to get them. I could hear the dogs’ tails hitting their crates; they were howling loudly, and we were causing so much commotion.” 

She continues with a smile, “When they first came to Brazil, Archie and Hugo were really jetlagged. They would jump up onto the bed at 2:30am ready to play. We were not ready to play at this time, and it took them a good week to get over this.”

After living in Brazil for three years, it was time for the DeBrincat family to return home. Naturally, Rebecca turned to Petraveller to help with the move. She says, “When it was time to move back home to Australia,my first phone call was to Petraveller. They assisted me the whole way home and even picked up the dogs from the airport to take them to their quarantine facility.”

The next big adventure for Archie and Hugo was the move to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam with the family. Rebecca reached out to Petraveller to help with this move too. Rebecca says, “Petraveller has gone above and beyond to take care of Archie and Hugo and I am ever so grateful for their service, their care and hardwork.”
