Axle, Jasper and Priyanka

 Priyanka relocated with her charming Rottweiler, Axle, and adorable Ragdoll cat, Jasper, from Melbourne to Auckland to be closer to her family. She talks about Axle and Jasper and tells us why she was impressed with the pet travel experience.

 Axle became a part of Priyanka’s family in December 2020. Priyanka says, “He was supposed to be the weakest of his litter. I haven’t looked back since I’ve gotten him, as he is a part of my family.”

 Jasper, the Ragdoll kitty, was an early birthday present in 2020 from Priyanka’s best friend. Priyanka shares, “Jasper was a moving on point from the grief of losing my previous Ragdoll. He is the cuddliest, mellow and friendliest cat I have ever owned.”

 Axle is both house and crate trained. Priyanka explains, “Axle is rarely vocal. He has quite a big appetite and I used his meal times as training sessions to teach and reinforce commands and obedience. He has been socialised through puppy school and basic obedience training. That being said, he is also socialised with kids and my cat.” She laughs and adds, “He can begin a lick-a-thon if given the opportunity, which I rarely do.” Axle sleeps in his crate all night as a practice not to have separation anxiety during travel.

 On the other hand, Jasper is a very friendly cat who prefers cuddles to space. Priyanka says, “Jasper is groomed and cleaned regularly, so all parts of him are easily touched without upsetting him. Sometimes he is mischievous and kitten-like. Jasper is socialised with dogs, kids and people.” She continues, “Jasper loves to sit on my lap and purr. He’s vocal during travels to the vet, like all the cats.”

 Priyanka was returning home to Auckland, New Zealand, with her adorable pets Axle and Jasper.
