Bear, Gidget and Pascale

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Pascale travelled with his gorgeous dogs, Bear and Gidget, from Melbourne to London. Read to know more about Bear and Gidget and their pet relocation experience during the pandemic.

Bear, the Brittany, is an eleven-year-old dog who is a much-loved member of the Harvie family. He is independent, energetic, and loves nothing more than a big run at the park or beach. Gidget is a Miniature Dachshund who is eight months old and a pandemic puppy. Pascale says fondly, “Gidget has spent her life surrounded by people and her favourite being, Bear. They are hilarious together. Gidget has helped Bear act like a younger dog.”

Speaking about his pets, Pascale recollects, “When we brought Gidget home, Bear wasn’t too sure. Also, Gidget was an annoying little puppy. Six months later, and they are inseparable.” He adds, “They love playing and sleeping together. Gidget is a little nervous around strangers due to the Melbourne lockdown and not being socialised. The flight will be terrifying for her. Bear is much calmer, however it still will be a scary experience for him. Hopefully, they can keep each other calm.”

The Harvie family were relocating to London, UK for work. Pascale says, “We never considered leaving Bear and Gidget behind. They are a part of the family, and hopefully, they will love London!”

Pascale began searching for a reliable international pet transport company that could help relocate Bear and Gidget. The COVID-19 pandemic has made pet transport more complicated because of flight unavailability and travel restrictions, and it was not very easy for Pascale to find a pet travel partner to help him move Bear and Gidget to London. Pascale says, “The thought of moving a beloved pet across the world is very daunting and scary, add to that the challenge of COVID-19, and we were very overwhelmed.”
