Adorable Chihuahua Benji became a part of the Van Rensburg family in May 2020. Karen says, “We have always loved having pets at home, and Benji was my daughter's first puppy.”

Karen talks about Benji’s quirky nature. She laughs and says, “Benji is a bit of a Casanova and likes girls a bit more than boys. He loves sitting on your lap, chewing his bully stick, and licking your toes if they have the right flavour. Not everyone passes the toe-licking test. He gets playful late at night, usually when you want to go to bed.”

Karen adds, “Loud noises scare Benji, and he gets a bit nervous in new surroundings. My daughter has written plenty of songs for him which we love singing to him.”

The Van Rensburg family were returning home to Johannesburg, South Africa. Karen says, “Leaving Benji behind is not an option as it would break my daughter’s heart, and he is a part of the family.”
