Katie and her pretty Cavoodle Billie relocated from Melbourne to Auckland to escape the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Katie talks about Billie’s importance in her life and shares her pet travel experience with Petraveller.

Katie chose Billie from a breeder in Darwin and flew her down to Melbourne when Billie was ready to be homed. Katie says adoringly, “She is incredibly precious to me, and we share a close bond. She is almost two and full of personality. She is a people kind of dog, rather than a dog’s dog. She is quite submissive around other dogs and would prefer to sit on a person’s lap at the park.”

Billie is loving and very attached to Katie. She says, “I think without me, Billie will be a bit shy and might want some reassurance. She likes both men and women, and loves a belly rub. Billie is a sassy and super smoochy dog. She loves to play, likes her food, and loves to be near people.”

Katie and Billie were heading back home to Auckland, New Zealand, indefinitely to escape the second wave of COVID in Australia.

She decided to take up the services of an international pet transport company to help her with the relocation. Like most pet parents, Katie was nervous about Billie’s journey. Katie says, “I was very nervous about Billie’s flight as she has separation anxiety, and because I flew two weeks before her to quarantine.”
