Calvin, Hobbes and Genevieve

Sydney to Singapore

Trip Overview

Owner: Genevieve Teo

Origin: Sydney

Pet Names: Calvin and Hobbes

Destination: Singapore

Breed: Domestic Shorthair and Domestic Medium Hair

“Calvin and Hobbes are mostly found snuggled up together in various comfy spots around the house.”

Genevieve dearly missed her family during the COVID-19 pandemic and decided to move back home to Singapore with her handsome cats, Calvin and Hobbes. She talks about the companionship she shares with her boys and what led her to Petraveller for the international pet transport to Singapore.

Domestic Shorthair Calvin and the Domestic Medium Hair Hobbes are brothers from the same litter of five. They were born in the vet clinic where Genevieve worked. She says, “They were hand-raised by one of my wonderful vet nurses. Calvin and Hobbes spent a fair bit of time running around the office while I did my paperwork, and I very quickly fell in love with them. I ended up taking them both home with me and haven’t looked back since! They are named after the boy and tiger of the famous Bill Watterson comic strip.”

Calvin and Hobbes are highly bonded. Genevieve smiles and shares, “Calvin and Hobbes are mostly found snuggled up together in various comfy spots around the house. They are very friendly and take to new people ridiculously quickly.”

Genevieve discusses Calvin’s behaviour. She says fondly, “Calvin gives us the biggest welcome when we get home from work. He waits by the door, then flops over with his belly up and loves a good rub. He also loves putting his face in my shoes and rubbing my sock all over his face. However, Calvin gets spooked by loud sounds and likes a good hidey-hole till he thinks it’s safe enough to come out.”

Hobbes, on the other hand, is a big snuggler and loves a good smooch. He is unfazed by most things. Genevieve laughs and says, “His new thing is sitting on my shoulder while I do my chores or try to cook.”

Genevieve was moving back to her country in Singapore to be closer to her family. She says, “COVID has made the distance from our loved ones seem much bigger, and we’re realising all the important things we are missing out on by being so far away.” Leaving her furry family behind was never an option for Genevieve, so Calvin and Hobbes were relocating too.

International pet travel has become extremely challenging due to the travel restrictions because of the global COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, Genevieve decided to hire an international pet transport company to assist her with the ins and outs of the pet relocation. Genevieve started looking out for pet travel companies in Australia to bring Calvin and Hobbes to Singapore, and her search led to Petraveller. Explaining why she chose Petraveller, Genevieve says, “While other companies had mixed reviews, Petraveller had consistently good ones!”

Calvin and Hobbes had a comfortable journey and made it to Singapore in good health. Thank you, Genevieve, for giving Petraveller the opportunity to relocate your precious pets from Sydney to Singapore. We wish you lots of love, fun and laughter with your family and dear Calvin and Hobbes.
