Collin and Jade

Melbourne to Taipei

Trip Overview

Owner: Jade Huang

Origin: Melbourne

Pet Name: Collin

Destination: Taipei

Breed: Border Collie X

“Collin is a connoisseur of food.”

Here’s the story of a Border Collie cross, Collin, who is calm and stoic, and more like a cat than a dog. Read to know more about Collin and his international pet relocation story.

Collin has been a part of Jade’s family since she was eleven years old. Jade takes a trip down memory lane, “I remember begging my mum for a dog when I was little. I knew I wanted a medium-sized dog with medium length fur. Mum suggested that we get a Border Collie since they’re known to be the smartest dog breed. I wanted to have a picture-perfect black and white Border Collie with the iconic white stripe between the eyes, white neck scarf, and white socks on all four feet.”

She smiles and reminisces, “One day, my mum went shopping at our local shopping mall and saw Collin at a pet shop display window. She fell in love at first sight and immediately took me to see him after I finished school. He was perfect, exactly how I imagined. So, without a second thought, we brought him home with us that day.”

Jade laughs and talks about her pooch’s personality. She says, “Collin is a bit of a weirdo. He is calm and stoic, more like a cat than a dog. Due to this, my friends always say – Jade, you’re not a dog person because Collin doesn’t count as a dog.”

Collin doesn’t like to socialise with other dogs, but he loves people. Jade says, “Collin is kind of a connoisseur of food as my mum loves to cook, and Collin will always get the first taste test. He is also quite picky with food.”

Jade was going back to her home town in Taipei, Taiwan. She says, “I have recently finished my studies in Australia. I’m going back to Taiwan to hopefully jumpstart my career. My mum is living in Taiwan right now, and as much as I think Collin is my dog, he is my mum’s dog as he loves her more than me. We are both going to Taiwan to reunite him with my mum.”

Jade decided to choose an accredited international pet relocation company to help her move her pooch safely to Taipei. She says, “I have looked at a couple of different companies, and Petraveller was one that has the best reviews from what I could see, especially from customers travelling to Asia and travelling with senior dogs. It made me feel more confident in my choice.”

We are delighted to say that Collin had a wonderful flight and was a well-mannered boy on his entire journey. Thank you, Jade, for believing in Petraveller and giving us the opportunity to relocate your pet dog from Australia to Taipei. We wish you good luck and here’s to many fun adventures with Collin in Taiwan.
