Dixie and Karen

Sydney to London

Trip Overview

Owner: Karen Brace

Origin: Sydney

Pet Name: Dixie

Destination: London

Breed: Domestic Shorthair

“I was happy with the consultation and communication that I had with Petraveller.”

Karen and her Domestic Shorthair cat Dixie relocated from Sydney to London with Petraveller. Karen talks about her cat and explains why she chose Petraveller for her pet’s relocation.

The Brace family rescued Dixie from the RSPCA in 2015. She was surrendered from a home where the marriage had broken down. Karen says, “We have had Dixie for about four and a half years now, and she is a very happy, relaxed, spoilt cat living with just us, and no children or other animals. The only sign of stress she has ever shown while with us was over-grooming a couple of times.”

Dixie is a very vocal cat, who loves cuddles and travelling in the car. Karen says, “If at all she gets stressed, she likes to bury herself under a towel or a blanket. From the first night we got her, she has a routine of bringing her toys into the bedroom for us when we go to bed; it’s like bringing her kittens. This is very cute as she meows and carries them in.”

Karen adds, “Dixie loves to wake my husband up at 6 am by washing his head for him. She does like to lick us, especially if we have been away. Dixie is not keen on strangers; she hides or buries herself in her crate when she hears loud strange sounds.”

After living in Sydney for 17 years, the Brace family were moving back home to the UK to be closer to family and friends. They also had plans of travelling around Europe. Karen says, “When we came to Australia, we brought our two cats with us, so leaving Dixie behind was never an option.”

Karen chose Petraveller for her pet’s relocation from Sydney to London. She says, “The quote from Petraveller was favourable; and I was also happy with the phone consultation and communication.”

Dixie made the long journey from Sydney to London with great ease and is happily settled in her new home. Thank you, Karen, for having faith in us to relocate your precious kitty cat. We wish you luck and loads of kisses to Dixie.
