Christopher adopted Doctor Shadow, a gentle giant, in a heartbeat because he fell in love with her instantly. Read to know more about the gorgeous Doctor Shadow and her international pet relocation story from Melbourne to Los Angeles.

Christopher gave Doctor Shadow a forever home in January 2017. Christopher reminisces, “She had been living on a rescue farm in Canberra, and when we saw her listing on petrescue.com we were instantly in love with her. Over the years we’ve just become more besotted with our perfect little lady-gentleman hound.”

Talking about her temperament, Christopher says, “Doctor Shadow is very quiet but expressive. She’s a gentle giant and has never jumped up on anyone. She’s amazing with all our friends, kids, babies and other dogs. Doctor Shadow was a surrogate mum for the next-door neighbour’s very excitable, enormous Samoyed puppy. She was always patient and gentle with him, even when he got bitey.”

Christopher is very amused with Doctor Shadow’s quirky personality. He says with a laugh, “She holds a hilarious fascination for cats where she silently pleads with them to love her. They ignore her, which is equal parts funny and heartbreaking! She’s incredibly obedient, but not exactly the smartest hound in the world. She knows basic commands, but things like finding treats if they’ve dropped are impossible tasks for our poor wee girl.” Doctor Shadow’s favourite thing in the world is to flop right next to a fireplace after a long road trip.

Christopher and his partner were relocating to Los Angeles. He says, “As two people with full-time careers in different sectors of the entertainment industry, moving to Los Angeles has always been the plan. This move is nearly a decade in the making. After years of preparation, we’re finally ready to take the plunge.” As Doctor Shadow is a beloved member of the family, it was crystal clear that she would be joining the family.
