Ella and Sonia

Brisbane to Hong Kong

Trip Overview

Owner: Sonia Chiu

Origin: Brisbane

Pet Name: Ella

Destination: Hong Kong

Breed: Shiba Inu

“Ella can somehow sense good or bad people.”

Petraveller helped relocate beautiful Shiba Inu Ella from Brisbane to Hong Kong. Read more to know about Ella and her pet relocation story.

Sonia has had Ella since Ella was eight weeks old. Ella has spent most of her doggy life with Sonia and her previous partner Ben. Sonia says, “We are no longer together but have agreed on doggy custody arrangements, and he sees her about twice a week and takes her walking at Southbank.”

Ella is shy and timid by nature. Sonia affectionately speaks of her pooch, and says, “Ella will warm up to some people straight away, depending on the personality of the person. In terms of her temperament, Ella is very much an independent dog. She is affectionate only on her terms but does love a good neck and behind the ear and chin scratches.”

Elaborating further, she adds, “Ella finds the most comfort in those she’s most familiar with. She somehow can sense good or bad people. Ella is very stubborn, has selective hearing, and though she knows that I am her 'pawrent', she pushes those boundaries with her selective hearing. She is secretly a softy and has a big heart but keeps it hidden away behind her shyness.”

Sonia was moving to Hong Kong with Ella. “It was never an option to leave Ella behind. We are starting a new adventure in Hong Kong, and I want to continue to give her the best I can,” says Sonia.

Relocating a pet can be complicated, international pet transport is a long and convoluted process. Sonia decided to contact an international pet relocation agency to organise Ella’s travel to Hong Kong. She says, “I got two quotes, and there was a substantial price difference between the two (the other company cost less). After looking through the social media pages of the other company, I didn’t feel like it was as genuine as Petraveller although I don’t doubt, they provide a great service. Petraveller has been very reassuring.”

Ella reached her destination in great spirits and is well-settled in her new home. Thank you, Sonia, for trusting Petraveller with your dear doggie’s pet travel. Wishing you fun and fantastic new adventures with Ella in Hong Kong!
