Ella, Brax and Danika

We had the opportunity of relocating a pretty Kelpie named Ella and a handsome German Shepherd called Brax from Brisbane to their new home in Christchurch. Here’s their relocation story.

Danika adopted Ella about nine years ago. She recollects, “Ella was a little ball of fluff, although she had awful breath. She instantly became my little soul sister.” Five years later, Brax joined Danika and Ella. Danika says, “We wanted to get a friend for Ella and make our family bigger. Brax is a handful but we wouldn’t change him for the world.”

Ella is a sweet little soul who loves kisses. Danika says, “If she is sitting near you, she will lick the air to try and get your breath. She is weird but unique! If I am not around, she tends to get depressed and anxious. She also loves pats and being around people. Due to her breed, Ella likes rounding other dogs up and due to her age gets quite bothered if other dogs are in her space.”

Brax is full of energy and loves walking and swimming. Danika says fondly, “He is boisterous and doesn’t know his own size or strength. He once got out and went on a two-day holiday with his friend! He can be quite timid with loud noises. We love him to bits and think he is very handsome.”

Danika was relocating from Brisbane to Christchurch. She is originally from New Zealand and had been living in Australia for the past sixteen years. She says, “My partner’s family currently live there and own a business. We thought it would be a great opportunity for him to go work for the family business. We love the lifestyle there, and can’t wait to take the pups to the river without being worried about some animal killing us.”

Danika began looking for pet travel relocation agencies to assist her with the pet travel. She wanted a company that was trustworthy and reliable. Danika says, “Moving overseas is a stressful time as it is; I wanted a company that would take the reins so I wouldn’t have to run around like a headless chook and potentially miss something.”
