Emi and Farah

Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur

Trip Overview

Owner: Farah Naim

Origin: Melbourne

Pet Name: Emi

Destination: Kuala Lumpur

Breed: Domestic Long Hair

“If Emi was a human, she’d be a gourmet.”

Many people found themselves away from their families during the COVID-19 outbreak. Farah and her Domestic Long Hair, Emi travelled from Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur to be with family. Farah talks about her pet and explains what led her to Petraveller for Emi’s international pet relocation

Farah and her friend adopted Emi and her sister, Badger, from another friend. Both Emi and Badger were seven months old, and their then-owner didn’t want to separate them, and Farah and her friend took them.

Emi has very refined tastes for a cat. Farah laughs and says, “If Emi was a human, she’d be a gourmet. She only wants the best of the best. She loves desserts and cheese. She responds to the word cheese because it means she’ll get her favourite treat. Emi loves when we ask her ‘Is it time?’ because it indicates it’s time for wet food.”

Farah continues, “Emi likes kisses and pets but dislikes cuddling. She’s a clean freak, and grooms herself so much and obsesses over keeping her litter deposits very well covered.”

Talking about Emi’s temperament, Farah says, “Emi makes humans think she hates them but, in all honesty, she’s just horribly shy and scared. She’s a quiet cat, and very timid. She hates loud noises and gets scared easily. She doesn’t like strangers at all and gets extremely anxious when she’s around people she doesn’t know.”

Farah was returning home to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. “I decided to return home to my family since COVID-19 made being apart from my family very difficult. Leaving Emi behind was an option, but I had always known from before I adopted her that I’d make sure she would come home with me,” says Farah.

Farah decided to take assistance from an international pet relocation agency to handle her pet’s journey because she knew relocating a pet is a challenging process. She started looking for a suitable pet transport company who would safely relocate Emi to Kuala Lumpur. She says, “I had inquired with a lot of agencies. Petraveller was the one that replied to me the quickest. I was also recommended to Petraveller by a friend of a friend who worked in pet relocation.”

We are glad to say that Emi had a wonderful flight and reached Kuala Lumpur safely. Thank you, Farah, for trusting us with your pretty kitty, Emi. We wish you good luck and lots of kisses to Emi.
