Hugo, Cleo and Samantha

Sydney to Singapore

Trip Overview

Owner: Samantha Liew

Origin: Sydney

Pet Names: Hugo and Cleo

Destination: Singapore

Breed: Domestic Shorthair cats

“Hugo is daddy’s boy, and Cleo is mummy’s girl.”

Here’s the pet relocation story of two adorable kitties, Hugo and Cleo, who are poles apart. Read to know more about Hugo and Cleo and their international pet travel experience from Sydney to Singapore.

Hugo has been a part of the Liew family since 2016 when he was four weeks old. Samantha shares, “We got Hugo from a litter of kittens, and he was the cutest kitten I’d ever seen. He has become my husband’s boy, also known as Daddy’s boy. Hugo is my husband’s first pet, and because of that, both of them have a special bond.”

Samantha talks about Hugo’s quirky side. She laughs and says, “Hugo is a playful, naughty, curious and energetic cat. He likes to steal things and hides them, and eats tissue paper. Hugo likes to annoy his little sister Cleo. He runs around randomly, making funny noises and likes to bring his dad’s thongs upstairs. Hugo is a big boy, but he’s a big scaredy-cat.” Hugo does not like to go to the vet. He gets very anxious and out of his comfort zone. Samantha says, “Hugo has a slight sensitive tummy, so we feed him digestive friendly bikkies and meat.”

Cleo has been a part of the Liew family since August 2017. Cleo was four months old when the Liew family adopted her through a pet rescue organisation. Samantha recalls, “The moment I saw Cleo’s photo online, I knew I had to have her as I love black cats. She was the last kitten to be adopted, which is so sad as she has a sweet personality. Cleo is my girl, also known as Mummy’s girl.”

Samantha talks about Cleo’s calm personality. She says, “Cleo is very sweet, gentle and ladylike. When I’m sick or upset, she’ll come to me. Cleo gets annoyed with her older brother, Hugo, who wants to play with her when she wants to chill and sleep. Cleo can be shy when she meets new people and takes time to warm up. However, she’s fine with the vet and will comply with what’s needed. Cleo is not as difficult to handle as Hugo.”

Samantha continues, “Cleo loves to eat. She eats anything from cat food to scrambled eggs to veggies. Cleo lives to eat. The way to Cleo’s heart is food.”

The Liew family were moving back to their home town in Singapore to be closer to their parents. “I will be taking over the family business one day as Covid got me thinking about what’s important. We would never leave Hugo and Cleo behind, they are our babies. Pets are family,” says Samantha.

Samantha decided to partner with an international pet relocation agency to move her fur babies from Sydney to Singapore. She came across Petraveller and reached out to the team to manage Hugo and Cleo’s international move. Samantha says, “Petraveller responded to my request very quickly and eased all my concerns. My husband and I were impressed with the information and the level of care provided. Petraveller made me feel confident that Hugo and Cleo were in safe hands.”

Hugo and Cleo were absolute sweethearts on their long journey and landed in Singapore safely. Thank you, Samantha, for putting your trust in Petraveller and allowing us to relocate charming Hugo and Cleo. We wish the Liew family lots of happiness and big hugs to Hugo and Cleo.
