Izzy and Britta

Melbourne to Amsterdam

Trip Overview

Owner: Britta Luijten

Origin: Melbourne

Pet Name: Izzy

Destination: Amsterdam

Breed: Domestic Long Hair

“Izzy is my emotional support animal.”

Petraveller relocated cute Domestic Long Hair cat, Izzy, from Melbourne to Amsterdam. Britta talks about the inseparable bond that she shares with Izzy and why she chose Petraveller for the international pet travel

Britta adopted Izzy three months ago just before the Corona virus lockdown. Britta says, “We have been inseparable ever since! She comes with us on walks, and she recently came with us on a road trip around Victoria and NSW in a campervan.”

Izzy is a sweet, curious cat who is naughty at times. Britta says, “She might be anxious and loud in the crate when she is travelling. When we travel together, she just sits on my lap.”

Britta has a very special relationship with Izzy who is more than a pet to her. Britta says, “Izzy is my emotional support animal. I have chronic migraines, and she pulls me through the worst bits.”

Britta and her family were moving back home to Amsterdam, Netherlands because of the COVID-19 pandemic. She says, “When the coronavirus pandemic happened, we lost too much income. We never considered leaving Izzy behind because she is a part of our family. We made a commitment when we adopted her, and she is such a joy to have around.”

Britta had been trying to get Izzy on a Qatar flight to Amsterdam, without much success. She says, “The airline got back to me about a week and a half before her flight saying that an emotional support animal can only be a dog.”

Britta then reached out to Petraveller to help her with the relocation. She says, “Petraveller was sweet and understanding, and immediately put things in motion for Izzy and made all the required arrangements.”

We are happy to say that Izzy had a relaxed journey from Melbourne to Amsterdam and is settling in well in her new home. Thank you, Britta, for allowing us to relocate your dear Izzy. We wish you luck and many happy adventures in Amsterdam!
