Jemma, Percy, Foxy and Sue

Brisbane to Auckland

Trip Overview

Owner: Sue Els

Origin: Brisbane

Pet Name: Jemma, Percy and Foxy

Destination: Auckland

Breed: Labrador, Persian and Domestic Shorthair

“I chose Petraveller because of their friendly service, and they were very informative.”

We had the opportunity of relocating adorable pets Jemma, Percy and Foxy from Brisbane to Auckland. Pet mum Sue shares details about the sweet trio and explains why she chose Petraveller for their relocation.

Sue got Jemma as a puppy from a family in Te Teko in Whakatane, New Zealand. Jemma is a beautiful, happy female Labrador Retriever who adores her family. Sue smiles and says, “She loves everyone and brings them gifts of sticks, shoes, socks etc. She loves to play ball, long walks on the beach and food. However, she does not like storms and feels safe only when she is near me inside the house. Jemma sleeps inside our home either in the lounge or next to me in her bed. She sometimes allows Percy to share her bed as Percy adores Jemma.”

Foxy, the Persian cat, was inherited by Sue from her daughter in 2016. Sue says fondly, “Foxy is a lovely laid-back old man. He was born in New Zealand, and my daughter got him from a friend when he was about five years old.  He loves his food, cuddles and strokes, and purrs non-stop. Foxy loves people and prefers to sleep most of the day.”

Percy is a Domestic Shorthair cat who was also inherited by Sue from her daughter. Sue recalls, “Percy was also born in New Zealand; my granddaughter found her as a kitten in their farm shed.” Percy has a funny way of owning both Jemma and Sue. Sue says, “He whips his tail on my legs and in Jemma’s face and gives a coo type of meow when he sees me. Percy is not very friendly with people and takes a while to trust men. He loves to stalk birds but tends to pick on the big ones which often land up scaring him instead.”

Sue takes all three pets on walks on their four-acreage land, and even down the driveway to collect the mail. Sue says fondly, “Jemma sniffs everything and enjoys a swim in the dam. Foxy follows, lagging far behind, meows and flops over for a tickle. Percy runs in front of us all meowing and cooing and also flops over in front of me for a tickle.”

Sue was relocating to Auckland as her children and grandchild live there. She says, “We want all to be in one country as a family again. We had to take our pets along.” Sue reached out to Petraveller for her pets’ relocation. She says, “Petraveller was the most affordable, friendly and informative service.”

We are happy to say that Jemma, Percy and Foxy made their journey to New Zealand with great ease. Sue was delighted with the pet travel experience. She says, “Thank you so much for taking such great care of my fur babies all the way from Australia to New Zealand. I appreciated the answers to all my many questions with so much patience. My precious cargo were very well looked after.  I was kept informed with photos and videos of their whereabouts and what they were up to all the time.”

We thank you, Sue, for giving us the opportunity of relocating your adorable pets from Brisbane to Auckland. We wish you good luck and more memorable experiences with them!
