Jippie and Megan

“Jippie is a stalker who follows people everywhere, even into the toilet.”

Adorable Domestic Shorthair Jippie travelled from Brisbane to Auckland with Petraveller. Pet parent Megan talks about Jippie’s personality and explains why she chose Petraveller for the international pet transport. 

Jippie became a part of Megan’s life when his previous owners were unable to keep him any longer as they were moving for work. Megan says, “I moved Jippie to Brisbane with me in 2019, where he has been living ever since. He hated the flight but landed safely and adjusted to the new house in only a few days. So, I’m confident he can do it again.”

Jippie is very gentle and loves attention. He is a big fan of hard chin rubs and gentle belly rubs. Megan laughs and shares, “Jippie is a stalker who follows people everywhere, even into the toilet.” Speaking about  Jippie’s fears, Megan says, “Jippie is easily scared of loud noises. He is very trusting, and a bit of human reassurance will settle him when he is scared.”

Discussing Jippie’s health, pet mum Megan shares, “Jippie is FIV positive, but this hasn’t bothered him so far.”

Megan flew to New Zealand in February 2020, as her Australian visa expired, thinking she would be back in only a few months, unaware of the looming COVID-19 pandemic. She says, “Now, a year later, the person who has been taking care of Jippie is about to go on a long road trip, and won’t be able to take care of him anymore. With my visa approved for the next few years here, I thought it was time to bring him over. I’ve missed him so much the last year.”

Relocating a pet abroad is a stressful process, especially if your pet is easily scared of loud noises.
