Karla and Lisa

Sydney to Frankfurt

Trip Overview

Owner: Lisa Gurlin

Origin: Sydney

Pet Name: Karla

Destination: Frankfurt

Breed: Border Collie Cross

“Petraveller came to us as a recommendation by our dog trainer.”

Border Collie cross Karla travelled from Sydney to Frankfurt with Petraveller. Here’s proud mum Lisa talking about her gorgeous girl and what led her to Petraveller for the international pet travel.

Lisa brought home Karla from a breeder in October 2018. She says, “We had always wanted a Poodle mix, and Karla is a Border Collie Poodle mix.”

Describing her pooch’s nature, Lisa says, “Karla is generally a loving, gentle and caring dog, but she is also really anxious and takes medication for this based on the recommendation of our vet and trainer. She’s hesitant of strangers and takes a while to warm up to them.”

She shares, “Karla is also scared and uncomfortable with other dogs, and would need to be kept separate from the other animals during her journey.”

After living in Australia for 18 months, Lisa and her family decided to return home to Frankfurt, Germany. Leaving Karla behind did not cross their mind, and she was going with them to Frankfurt.

Lisa reached out to Petraveller for her pet’s relocation from Sydney to Frankfurt based on a recommendation. She says, “Petraveller came to us as a recommendation by our dog trainer.”

We are happy to say that Karla had a pleasant journey from Sydney to Frankfurt and is now well-settled in her new home. Talking about the pet relocation experience, Lisa says, “We were due to move to Germany on April 1, which turned out to be about three days after the world got locked down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Petraveller did everything they could to help us. They kept up communication the whole time and moved mountains to get us home to Germany.”

Lisa adds, “When we eventually got a new flight booking, Petraveller made us feel safe about Karla's flight. She's a very anxious dog, but Petraveller was so good with her. We were so happy to see that she was happy and healthy when she arrived.”

Thank you, Lisa, for the kind words of appreciation. We wish you lots of happiness and big hugs to Karla.
