Pet travel can be quite daunting, especially when you are dealing with pets that are nervous travellers. Here’s the story of a Domestic Shorthair cat named Louie, who relocated from Sydney to Parnell, Auckland with Petraveller.

Louie was gifted to Yvonne around two and a half year ago as an anniversary present. And it was love at first sight for Yvonne. 

Yvonne smiles and says, “Louie has only one personality trait, and that’s hunger. He is the typical cat that will eat plastic to get to sausages and bite into a loaf of bread. Once, he abandoned a half-eaten patty to come and cuddle me; that’s when I knew he loves me!” Louie is a rescue cat, and Yvonne thinks whatever happened to him as a rescue has contributed a lot to his personality now. He is dominant, especially around other cats and doesn’t enjoy trips to the vet.

Yvonne decided to relocate to Auckland, New Zealand for work. She says, “I was offered a permanent position in an awesome company in New Zealand. I do have friends and family in Australia who I could potentially leave Louie with, but it would have made me pretty unhappy to be apart from him for so long. Plus, he’s my responsibility, so I decided to bear the costs of moving him to live with me.”

Louie’s relocation was a concern for Yvonne as her pet is a nervous traveller. She looked for an accredited international pet relocation agency to assist her with her pet’s journey. She got a few quotes from different companies but chose Petraveller for the job.
