Murphy and Trudie

“Murphy was my therapy pup, helping me get through the COVID-19 lockdown.”

Trudie travelled with her cute Poodle Murphy from Sydney to Christchurch with Petraveller. Trudie talks about Murphy’s significance in her life and tells us why she partnered with Petraveller for his international pet relocation.

Murphy became Trudie’s forever fur baby in April 2020. Trudie says affectionately, “He is a very loving and wonderful pup. He was my therapy pup helping me get through the COVID-19 lockdown.” She laughs and continues, “He is now learning to spend a few hours by himself when I have to go into the office once a week, my plants get punished accordingly.” 

Trudie talks about Murphy’s winsome personality, “Murphy loves to be with me, particularly when he gets to sleep on the bed as a treat. He is protective with a bark now and again but also loving to everyone. When it comes to small children, he’s not so sure, but if they want to pat him, he will let them and often give kisses. He loves his cuddles and enjoys playing.” 

One of Murphy’s favourite things is getting to go to puppy school/daycare once a week. He learns to be a well-behaved pup who listens and has a blast with the other dogs and trainers. His absolute favourite thing is zoomies on the beach in the sand!

Trudie was relocating to Christchurch for a short period of three months. She says, “Thanks to the COVID-19 world we live in, I am unable just to pop back to New Zealand to visit family and friends. I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to work from home in New Zealand for three months.”

She adds, “Murphy is coming with me because the idea of leaving him behind for that long was unthinkable and my family and friends can’t wait to meet him. Murphy will be coming back to Sydney when I do so it’s just a holiday for him too.”

Relocating pets across the world has become extremely challenging due to the travel restrictions in place because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, Trudie decided to partner with an experienced pet relocation company to assist her to relocate Murphy.
