Navier-Stokes and Andrea

Sydney to Frankfurt

Trip Overview

Owner: Andrea Ribeiro

Origin: Sydney

Pet Name: Navier-Stokes

Destination: Frankfurt

Breed: Domestic Shorthair

“Navier is a celebrity in the Brazilian twitter community with 1000+ followers.”

Petraveller relocated celebrity cat Navier-Stokes from Sydney to Frankfurt. Read more to know about Navier-Stokes and his pet relocation experience during COVID-19 pandemic.

Navier got a new home when Andrea adopted him last July when he was four months old. Andrea says proudly, “Navier is a cat celebrity in the Brazilian twitter community with more than1000 followers. I do not control his Twitter account, it was created by fans who loved the photos and stories I posted about him. You can see his Twitter account at https://twitter.com/naviears.”

Andrea describes Navier as a very curious, hyperactive, and overall a very happy cat. He has huge ears, that are entirely out of proportion with his body and head which makes him unique. He is not afraid of people, and neither bites nor scratches.

Talking about Navier’s temperament, Andrea says, “He is quite curious and bossy when it comes to being fed at the right times and can become angry when his meal is delayed. He likes to run around the house, absolutely out of control and climb onto things.”

Andrea was moving to Frankfurt, Germany for a Postdoctoral fellowship and to get married. She says, “I am not a permanent resident and have no family in Australia. These last months were very stressful: from the threat of being denied treatment by private health insurance companies if I was infected with COVID to the fact that I cannot leave the country if something happens to my family overseas. It makes sense leaving now, and there is no possibility other than taking Navier-Stokes with me. He has been my partner in crime every single day since I adopted him, and I love him dearly.”

International pet relocation has become more challenging than ever due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Andrea decided to get help from an accredited pet transport company to handle Navier’s pet travel. Andrea began looking for a trusted pet travel agent and contacted several companies for a quote. She says, “I had a truly horrible experience with another company when information regarding the current situation of flights in Australia was not fully disclosed. Communication was difficult up to a point when they would not return my calls or explain to me about the situation of flights being cancelled.”

Andrea adds, “After my terrible experience, I decided to call Petraveller since I already had a quote from them. I spoke with Petraveller who gently clarified all my questions. They were completely honest regarding the possibilities and challenges of transporting pets in such hectic times. Considering that I am leaving the country before Navier to assume my job position in Germany, I needed to leave his international travel in the hands of people that I truly trust, and I felt I could trust Petraveller.”

Navier’s fans in Germany were eagerly waiting for him to arrive in Frankfurt. Andrea says, “His fans are running campaigns in his support, hoping he will soon be reunited with us in Germany. This cat is the sunshine of my life and I want to be reunited with him ASAP.”

We are happy to say that despite the challenges posed by the global COVID-19 pandemic, Navier made it safely to Frankfurt and is happily reunited with his human mum Andrea. Thank you, Andrea, for trusting Petraveller with the international relocation of your precious boy Navier. We wish you a happy life ahead with your sweet boy Navier in Germany.
