Otis and Cassandra

Melbourne to Dallas Fort Worth

Trip Overview

Owner: Cassandra Lenski

Origin: Melbourne

Pet Name: Otis

Destination: Dallas Fort Worth

Breed: Miniature Dachshund

“Otis is truly my first-born child, and I cannot imagine life without him.”

A dog is considered a man’s best friend, here’s the story of Miniature Dachshund Otis and mum Cassandra, who are best companions and share an inseparable bond. Read to know more about Otis and his international pet transport to Dallas Fort Worth.

Otis got a new home when mum Cassandra adopted him in NYC in July 2016 when he was about six months old. Cassandra says, “I brought Otis with me to Australia in 2017 when I got a job offer to live abroad. He just turned five in February.”

Otis is a very quiet and shy dog by nature, and is not a big fan of large dogs. Cassandra says affectionately, “Otis is the sweetest little boy and is my whole world. If I need to sleep, he’s happy just curling up next to me, keeping my stomach warm. He has been the perfect companion. Otis is so well behaved and is my little shadow. I always say adopting Otis was the best decision I’ve made for myself.”

Cassandra adds, “Otis is my little world-traveller, often acting as an emotional support animal on plane flights in the USA. He loves his life on the beach. His favourite toy is a stuffed piece of cake that he takes on walks, and he can still bark with it or a ball in his mouth. Otis is truly my first-born child, and I cannot imagine life without him.”

Cassandra was moving back to Dallas Fort Worth to be closer to her family. “As an expat, I never anticipated Australia to be my forever home. So, we are relocating back to Dallas to be closer to my parents and their golden retriever Harley, who is the only big dog Otis has ever loved. I’m so excited to see Otis and Harley reunite and be able to give him a big backyard.”

When the idea of Otis’s relocation came up, Cassandra was absolutely terrified of Otis having to travel all alone without her. She says, “I worry about his emotional wellbeing on the long flight but I know that relocating home is the best decision for the both of us.”

The COVID-19 pandemic has made pet transport more complicated, more confusing and stressful. Like any other pet parent, nothing was more important for Cassandra than getting her precious boy Otis home safely and comfortably. Therefore, Cassandra decided it’s best to hand over the relocation process to a reliable international pet relocation company to help relocate Otis safely to Dallas Fort Worth.

Cassandra was happy to have come across Petraveller. She says, “Petraveller responded quickly to my inquiry. Petraveller has been informative, empathetic and instilled confidence in me. I’ve also been comforted by the glowing customer reviews that the company has received.”

We are glad to say that Otis made his journey with great ease and is now happy to be back home with his mate Harley. Thank you, Cassandra, for trusting Petraveller for beloved Otis’s relocation. We wish you lots of love, laughter, snuggles and walks with darling Otis in the US.
