Peluca and Lourdes

Argentina to Sydney

Trip Overview

Owner: Lourdes Miller

Origin: Argentina

Pet Name: Peluca

Destination: Sydney

Breed: German Shepherd

“Leaving our pet behind was never an option.”

Lourdes and Peluca moved to Sydney from Argentina with Petraveller. Lourdes talks about her experience with Peluca’s international pet relocation experience.

Lourdes and her husband rescued a very sick Peluca from a train station in Argentina, and together they nursed her back to health with plenty of love, patience and of course, medicine. It’s been nine years since Peluca was rescued and she has been a beloved part of the Miller family ever since.

Peluca lived on the streets before she was rescued and developed a resourceful skill of stealing food to survive. Lourdes says, “Once, we had guests visiting us and they bought three boxes of Argentinian chocolate to take back with them. When it was time to leave, two of the three boxes had disappeared. We found one box in Peluca’s bed, but the other one has completely disappeared. A couple of days later, I found the third box under some furniture; she hid it there to eat later!”

The Miller family decided to relocate to Sydney because of a work opportunity and leaving Peluca behind was never an option. Lourdes says, “Right from the beginning we included Peluca in our travel plan because she is a member of our family.”

Lourdes began her search for a pet travel company to help the family with transporting Peluca from Argentina to Australia. She says, “I found Petraveller when I was looking for a pet relocation company that was a member of IPATA (International Pet and Animal Transportation Association). I choose Petraveller because I read many good reviews about the company.”

Peluca arrived in Sydney after her long flight in good spirits. She was exhausted initially, but after a couple of days, she recovered and was back to her spirited self. Lourdes says, “Peluca is very comfortable at our new home and she enjoys walking in the park. She loves looking outside the window at the Blue Tongue Lizard that lives in our garden.”

Thank you, Lourdes, for trusting us to fly your precious cargo.
