Penny Lane and Andrew

Melbourne to Vancouver

Trip Overview

Owner: Andrew Broderick

Origin: Melbourne

Pet Name: Penny Lane

Destination: Vancouver

Breed: Domestic Shorthair

“I relied on Petraveller because of the trust we built last time.”

Andrew and his beloved Domestic Shorthair cat, Penny Lane, travelled from Melbourne to Vancouver with Petraveller. Andrew talks about Penny Lane’s goofy personality and why he chose Petraveller for the second time for his pet’s international travel.

Penny Lane is an Australian born farm cat who has travelled the world a few times over. Andrew shares, “My partner was working on a farm in 2016 to extend her holiday working visa, and on the very first day she arrived, she bonded with Penny. Penny Lane was around two or three months old at the time. She was super affectionate and followed my partner everywhere.”

Andrew continues, “The farm owners allowed us to take Penny when my partner was done working on the farm, as there were at least forty other cats already living there.”

Penny Lane is a timid but very gentle cat. She’s also a big goofball and very specific about her food and toys. Andrew says, “Penny Lane loves everyone, and she’s easy to love. She doesn’t mind small children. However, the outside noise often scares her. When my partner takes her to a vet, she has to hold her close to her chest. Penny Lane is afraid of dogs and isn’t too bothered with other cats.”

Andrew and his cat Penny Lane were relocating to Vancouver, Canada. He says, “Although I received my permanent residency in Canada, we decided to try out living in New Zealand. When COVID-19 hit, I had to part with my love as it was all we could afford. I took the cat to Australia, and she went home to Canada.” He adds, “Now I’m headed back to her, as I feel like Canada was always meant to be home. Penny Lane will be overjoyed to see my partner as it’s been a whole year since COVID-19 has separated us.”

Andrew reached out to Petraveller to handle his pets international travel from Melbourne to Vancouver as he had used the services previously. He says, “Petraveller has already been involved in one of Penny Lane’s international journeys, and I am relying on them again this time because of the trust we built last time. They were efficient and super nice.”

Penny Lane is now happily reunited with her human mum. Thank you, Andrew, for choosing Petraveller once again for precious Penny’s international move. We wish you happiness and big hugs to sweet Penny Lane.
