Pepper, Oreo and Leigh-Anne

Melbourne to Christchurch

Trip Overview

Owner: Leigh-Anne Stratford

Origin: Melbourne

Pet Name: Pepper and Oreo

Destination: Christchurch

Breed: Miniature Schnauzer

“Pepper and Oreo will do anything for food.”

Leigh-Anne used Petraveller to relocate her Miniature Schnauzers Pepper and Oreo from Melbourne to Christchurch. She describes their personalities and tells us why she chose Petraveller for the international pet relocation.

Among the two dogs, Pepper is the most easy-going one. Leigh-Anne says, “She is very calm, affectionate and loves a cuddle and a pat. She will do anything for food. Both Pepper and Oreo will do anything for food, and they love peanut butter.”

On the other hand, Oreo is much more mischievous by nature. Leigh-Anne says, “She does get up to a bit of trouble. However, she is quite a timid dog. During COVID, as no one could come into our house for six to seven months, she has become very protective towards us and the house.”

Leigh-Anne continues, “When people come into the house, Oreo will growl and may bark at them, but that’s because she is scared. Once you get to know her, she’s much more placid and loves a cuddle. She is not very fond of strangers and is definitely a lot timid and more scared when she meets someone new.”

Leigh-Anne says, “When we have gone away in the past, we have always had pet sitters come to the house. This will be their first experience of being in an unfamiliar environment without us.”

The Stratford family was heading back home to Christchurch, New Zealand, to be closer to their family. “Leaving the dogs in Australia was never an option. The dogs belong to my 13-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter,” says Leigh-Anne.

Leigh-Anne decided to seek assistance from a professional team who are experts in handling international pet relocations as she wanted her girls to have a smooth and stress-free pet travel experience. Based on a friend’s recommendation, Leigh-Anne contacted Petraveller and handed over the responsibility of managing her pets’ relocation to New Zealand.

We are glad to say that Pepper and Oreo reached Christchurch safely and are busy exploring the new city. Thank you, Leigh-Anne, for trusting Petraveller with your adorable pets. We wish you all the best and many fun adventures with Oreo and Pepper out there in New Zealand.
