Quilpie and Caitlin

Pretty Toy Poodle x Blue Heeler, Quilpie, travelled from Brisbane to London with Petraveller. Pet mum Caitlin talks about Quilpie’s personality and tells us why she chose Petraveller for the international pet travel to London.

Caitlin got Quilpie when Quilpie was under seven weeks old from a farm in regional Queensland. Caitlin says fondly, “Quilpie has been with me ever since and will have her fourth birthday on September 25th.”

According to Caitlin, Quilpie is a very unusual mixed breed. She is a Blue Heeler cross Toy Poodle. Caitlin says, “Quilpie is the product of an accident between the farm’s working dog (Heeler) and their family pet (Toy Poodle). This mix has made Quilpie a very intelligent dog, with the drive from the Heeler and smartness from the Poodle.”

Quilpie is a very affectionate dog. She is warm with humans but can take or leave the company of other dogs. Caitlin says with a smile, “She is very easy to train. Her favourite thing in the world is playing fetch, and she can do it for hours together. Quilpie stands on her hind legs to cuddle and loves to have her belly scratched.”

After living in Australia for four years, Caitlin was returning to London, UK. She says, “I received many offers from friends to take Quilpie for me, but I never considered it for a minute. As long as I could provide a happy home for Quilpie back in the UK and a good quality of life, she was always going to come with me.”

Caitlin looked online for a pet travel agency to help relocate Quilpie safely from Brisbane to London. Caitlin says, “I looked into one other pet transport company but decided against them in comparison to Petraveller, despite their quote being cheaper. Caitlin says, “Petraveller’s Instagram feed put me at ease; seeing the frequency of the trips and the client’s comments convinced me.
