Revel and Svenja

Brisbane to Frankfurt

Trip Overview

Owner: Svenja Desinger

Origin: Brisbane

Pet Name: Revel

Destination: Frankfurt

Breed: Domestic Shorthair

“Revel is my Honey-Bunny-Baby-Boy.”

Petraveller helped pet mum Svenja relocate her fearless Domestic Shorthair cat, Revel, from Brisbane to Frankfurt. Svenja talks about her pet affectionately and explains why she partnered with Petraveller to relocate Revel across the world to Frankfurt.

In April 2020, Svenja thought of adopting a little kitten because she thought their home felt lonely and there was something missing. Svenja recalls, “We were looking to adopt a kitten, and I looked online for hours before finding Revel. When I first spotted Revel, I was immediately taken by his grey tabby coat and big yellow eyes. We got in touch with the foster family and visited Revel and his two brothers. We fell in love but unfortunately, another family had already applied for him.”

Svenja continues, “We were broken-hearted, but, after a few days we received a phone call telling us that his adoption fell through. He could be our new family member if we still wanted him. It was a ‘without-hesitation-a-100%-yes’ decision. When I brought him home, he cuddled with me all day. Since then, Revel is my honey-bunny-baby-boy.”

Revel turned one in February and has become more independent since he’s an adult now. He’s got almost no fears and is curious about everything and everyone. Revel is calm, playful and loves chin and cheek scratches. However, very tall men scare him a little bit. “Revel isn’t afraid of his carrier but cries and meows on car rides, which I’m worried about for his relocation. He is usually vocal in the morning and evening when it’s feeding time around 7 am and 7 pm,” says Svenja.

Svenja decided to return to her home town in Frankfurt, Germany, to be with her family. Svenja says, “While I love living in Australia and have built a home for myself, I want to be near my friends and family in the future. From the moment I adopted Revel, it was clear that he was my responsibility and would come with me wherever I went. There was no doubt that he would be coming with me.”

Relocating a pet across the world can be overwhelming, especially when you’re in the middle of planning your move. Like most pet parents, Svenja was nervous about Revel travelling so far and so long. Therefore, Svenja decided to hand over relocating her pet to a team of professional international pet movers

She says, “I chose Petraveller because they got in touch with me about my quote within the shortest time frame of fewer than 24 hours, which I appreciated being a little impatient and anxious about planning my move. Petraveller was also the cheapest option, which wouldn’t have been my number one concern, but it is welcomed when an overseas move is connected with a lot of other high expenses.”

We are delighted to say that Revel had a fantastic flight and is now getting used to his new surroundings. Svenja was delighted with the pet travel experience. She says, “Everything was organised wonderfully, and I received updates every step of the way. Even though it was a long journey, he was his normal self, loving and comfortable when I brought him to his new house.”

Thank you, Svenja, for reaching out to Petraveller to help relocate gorgeous Revel. Good luck on the move and big hugs to handsome Revel!
