Samurai and Natalie

Melbourne to Singapore

Trip Overview

Owner: Natalie Wong

Origin: Melbourne

Pet Name: Samurai

Destination: Singapore

Breed: Japanese Spitz

“Petraveller has been very understanding throughout this long-drawn process.”

Petraveller relocated handsome Japanese Spitz Samurai from Melbourne to Singapore. Pet mum Natalie talks about her pet and tells us why she used Petraveller for the international pet relocation.

Samurai is a two-year-old Japanese Spitz who loves humans and is very anxious when his family are not close. Natalie says fondly, “Sami is our fur baby and we video call him every day. We have not have seen him for the most part of this year due to the coronavirus situation. We have relocated overseas during this unusual time and Sami is temporarily with his ‘grandpawrents’ in Croydon, who give him free rein of the house and a large garden to sniff and explore.”

Samurai is an outgoing dog who loves people but derives his confidence from being with people he is familiar with. He is a Velcro-dog but loves the attention from others. Natalie says, “Typically at the park, he will run up to other groups of people for pats and attention, usually girls or children as they give him the most attention. Though he ignores us, we still need to be within eye-shot. He loves tug of war and being chased during playtime.”

Samurai has an auto-immune health condition. Natalie explains, “Late last year, Sami was diagnosed with a rare auto-immune condition, which caused his nails to fall out. He has just tapered off his medication to see if it was a one-off episode or a chronic condition. We are keen to minimise his stress and anxiety during the international travel to prevent triggering this painful condition again.”

Samurai has travelled by air before and unfortunately didn’t like it very much. Natalie says, “Samurai has travelled by plane on two return trips from Sydney to Melbourne. He knocked his water on both occasions and was extremely anxious. Sami does not have a good track record of being calm during flying, and this has caused him not to like his travel crate. We hope Petraveller will be able to calm his nerves this time around, especially for such a long flight!”

Since Natalie was already in Singapore, she was very nervous of Sami flying on such a long flight. She decided to use an international pet relocation company to help move her pet safely across the world. She says, “I contacted a few other pet relocation services before deciding on Petraveller. We chose Petraveller because they have been in constant contact with me and have been understanding throughout this long-drawn process since earlier this year. Petraveller’s understanding of my situation and responsiveness has made the biggest difference.”

Samurai had an easy and stress-free journey from Melbourne to Singapore and is now happily reunited with his mum Natalie. She says, “Petraveller brought Sami from Melbourne to Singapore so smoothly and professionally. They quelled all my anxiety with regular updates and transparency.”

Thank you, Natalie, for giving us the opportunity to relocate your dearest boy Sami. We wish you good luck and hope you make some beautiful memories with Sami out there in Singapore.
