Sia, Woody and Amy

Melbourne to Manchester

Trip Overview

Owner: Amy Lockhart

Origin: Melbourne

Pet Names: Sia and Woody

Destination: Manchester

Breed: Russian Blue and Domestic Shorthair

“Sia and Woody are our babies.”

Here’s the beautiful relocation story of two gorgeous cats, Sia and Woody, who travelled from Melbourne to Manchester with Petraveller. Read to know more about Sia and Woody and their international pet relocation experience with Petraveller.

Sia is a three-year-old Russian Blue who was bought from a breeder in NSW. Pet parent Amy shares, “Sia has been our baby girl since she was twelve weeks old. We always wanted a Russian Blue for their kind and relaxed nature. We fell in love with her photo and had her arrive to us in time for Christmas.”

Amy talks fondly about her pets. She says, “We call Sia our floppy girl because you can pick her up and flop her over your shoulder, and she hangs there so relaxed. Sia loves a good back scratch. She is very quiet and doesn’t use her vocal cords unless it’s dinner time.”

Domestic Shorthair Woody was eleven weeks old when he joined Amy’s family. Amy smiles as she recalls, “Woody was an unexpected part of our family. We had Sia two months ago and went to the pet store to get some litter and food. There he was, eleven weeks old. I fell in love with him, and he came to me straight away. I always say he chose me. We asked about Woody, and he was up for adoption. So, we signed the paperwork and picked him up the next day. We had already named him before we knew he was ours.”

Discussing Woody’s personality, Amy says, “Woody was very scared and shy at first, and would hide from loud noises. After a few months, he settled right in and now he’s Mr Cheeky, always looking for a pat and cuddle. Woody is very vocal and loves his toys, especially his little mouse.” Amy adds, “Most nights you hear him meow and when you call him, he comes running with the mouse in his mouth and drops it at your feet.”

Amy was heading back home to Manchester. “We are relocating as I am originally from the United Kingdom. It’s time to be with my family at this point in our lives and relationship. There was never a doubt that our cats would move with us, they are our babies and our family,” says Amy.

Amy decided to partner with professional pet transporters to organise Sia and Woody’s journey from Melbourne to Manchester. She reached out to Petraveller to manage their relocation process. Amy says, “Petraveller had good online reviews and great customer service, right from my first enquiry, twelve months ago.”

Thank you, Amy, for placing your trust in Petraveller for relocating your precious cats. We wish you a wonderful time with your family, Sia and Woody, in the United Kingdom.
