Skye and Stephanie

Sydney to Dublin

Trip Overview

Owner: Stephanie O’Brien

Origin: Sydney

Pet Name: Skye

Destination: Dublin

Breed: Blue Heeler

“The kids call Skye their second mom.”

The O’Brien family were moving back home from Sydney to Dublin. Petraveller relocated the family’s cute Blue Heeler Skye. Pet mum Stephanie talks about Skye’s significance in their lives and why she chose Petraveller for the international pet relocation

Skye has been a member of the O’Brien family since she was eight weeks old. Stephanie fondly says, “Skye is loved by every member of the family but shares a special bond with our five-year-old daughter. They are inseparable. Skye wanders to and from the front door while she is at school waiting for her to return. They are best friends.”

Stephanie smiles and says, “Skye is very intelligent and loves showing off her commands. She is a loveable teddy bear, but she won’t let you see that side of her at first and is very protective of her little pack. She does have anxiety and has taught the kids all about stranger danger.” Stephanie adds, “Let Skye come to you to gain her trust. After five minutes, she will show you that cuddly side to her.”

Stephanie laughs and shares, “The kids call Skye their second mom as she is always looking out for them, keeping them safe from scary things like cyclists and sirens. Our 10-year-old’s fear of cockroaches is taken care of when Skye sees one. She rolls over the cockroach, saving the day!”

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the O’Brien family was heading back home to Dublin, Ireland. Stephanie says, “We are Irish citizens, and our time in Australia is coming to an end. We had hoped to become residents, but COVID changed our plans, and we are heading back to Ireland.”

Relocating a pet internationally requires you to follow a series of steps that involves documentation, vaccination schedules etc. To make the entire process easier, Stephanie decided to hand over the responsibility of relocating her pet to an experienced pet transport company. After doing her research, she reached out to Petraveller to handle the international pet relocation. She says, “The online reviews reassured us. We knew that Skye will be in safe hands to get her back to her family safely.”

Skye was an absolute champ during her long flight to Dublin. Stephanie was thrilled with the pet relocation experience. She says happily, “Thank you, Petraveller, for getting Skye home to us in Ireland. Thank you for the travel updates with the videos and photos. I was so worried about her and the pictures meant so much to me to know that she was in safe, caring hands."

Thank you, Stephanie, for choosing Petraveller to relocate your precious girl Skye. We wish you good luck and hope Skye enjoys the great outdoors of Ireland.
