Storm and Nicholas

Melbourne to Christchurch

Trip Overview

Owner: Nicholas Fuller

Origin: Melbourne

Pet Name: Storm

Destination: Christchurch

Breed: Siberian Husky

“Petraveller was the most genuine and caring about our circumstances.”

Nicholas and his gorgeous Siberian Husky Storm recently relocated from Melbourne to Christchurch with Petraveller. Nicholas speaks affectionately about the special bond that he shares with Storm and tells us why he chose Petraveller for Storm’s international pet transport.

Nicholas was first introduced to Strom through a buy and sell website called Trademe back in 2012. He recalls, “Storm was just a young pup of 18 months, and it was safe to say that she had a huge amount of joyous, ecstatic energy. After a few days of meeting her, I became her third and final home. Since then, she’s been my main companion.”

Talking about their special bond, Nicholas says fondly, “I’d be lying if I said every day was a heart-warming or a funny experience with Storm. Even if I take the rubbish out and return a minute afterwards, she goes into a high energy dance where she sticks her front legs out and twists the lower half of her body.”

Nicholas recalls affectionately, “One of the most memorable moments was when I had decided to stop drinking for a month. During that time, we went for many runs. On one of them, it was pouring down with rain but Storm loved bounding through the puddles. Seeing that pure joy on her face made me appreciate life more despite the cold wetness of it all.”

Nicholas and his partner were moving back home to Christchurch, New Zealand. He says, “The Covid-19 pandemic put a lot of things in perspective for us. We also thought Christchurch is a much better city for dogs. Since our pooch comes with us everywhere, there’s no reason not to bring her back home. She’s family.”

Nicholas decided to get help from an experienced international pet relocation company to relocate his pet. In the initial days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Nicholas rang around many pet transport agencies trying to get a flight back home for Storm. He says, “Most of the companies I contacted scarcely remained in contact. Petraveller’s constant flow of information and the wonderful customer service from everyone made it easy for us to choose. The wonderful communication and their dedication was impressive. Of all the companies I contacted, Petraveller was the most genuine and caring about our circumstances.”

We are delighted to say that despite the hurdles during the pandemic, Storm reached her destination safely. Nicholas says, “From the get-go, the communication was beyond amazing and it was great how we were kept up-to-date with what was going on. I can say that none of the other pet transport agencies didn't even compare. Petraveller did a fantastic job and you'll definitely be the first pet travel company we recommend."

Thank you, Nicholas, for your kind words of appreciation. We wish you luck and many happy moments with Storm back home in New Zealand.
