Sweet and Lucy

Lucy and her beautiful Labrador Staffy Cross Sweet moved back home from Melbourne to Auckland with Petraveller. Lucy speaks about Sweet’s importance in her life and shares her international pet travel experience.

Sweet is a rescue dog that Lucy adopted as her companion. She says, “Sweet can be wary of new people due to her past, but she has such a beautiful personality once you gain her trust. I don’t know what I would do without the constant support from Sweet. She is my dog and best friend both.”

Lucy says fondly, “Sweet is extremely loyal towards me and very protective and sweet at the same time. She is a very smart dog, she will suss out the situation and observe what’s going on. She is kind and cuddly with people she trusts.” 

Lucy was moving back home to Auckland, New Zealand. She says, “I have always known I would move home to New Zealand eventually and had planned to move home before the lockdown. When the borders closed, though I was prepared to move, I did not expect it to happen so quickly.” She adds, “Not being able to fly Sweet to New Zealand due to COVID-19 has been horrible, so I was so excited to be reunited with her.”

Lucy reached out to Petraveller to help her with the pet relocation from Melbourne to Auckland. She says, “I tried other pet travel agencies, but Petraveller was one of the few companies that actually answered their phone. They understood how hard it’s been for me not having Sweet here in New Zealand and they were very genuine in their attitude to helping me reunite with Sweet.”
