William and Shayne

Brisbane to Auckland

Trip Overview

Owner: Shayne Kotyniak

Origin: Brisbane

Pet Name: William

Destination: Auckland

Breed: Australian Cattle Dog

“William is very good at the death stare if he wants something.”

The Kotyniak family and their Australian Cattle Dog William relocated from Brisbane to Auckland with Petraveller. Read to know more about William and his international pet relocation story.

William became a part of the Kotyniak family when he was just seven weeks old. Shayne says fondly, “He is very spoilt, sleeps in our king size bed, gets two big runs/walks a day, and comes in the car with us almost everywhere. He gets treats all the time and is fed top of the range biscuits. If we are away, he has a dog sitter in the comfort of a home. He is most definitely our fur child.”

Shayne describes William as fun and loving. He understands the commands sit, beep beep (move out the way), wait, shake, come, stay and eat. She laughs and says, “He’s very bossy and is very good at the death stare if he wants something. He loves to play ball, but it has to be a chuck-it ball. Otherwise, he is not as interested.”

William has anxiety and fears loud noises. He runs for cover just with the garage door opening and closing! He is not aggressive, just over the top happy. Shayne says, “Most people comment that he is super friendly and good looking with great teeth.”

William is definitely a protector and a guard dog. Shayne laughs and shares an incident, “Once my husband’s friends from Europe came to stay, and they were nine in total. We all went to the beach and segregated doing our own thing. William constantly did the rounds checking on all eleven of us. He loves children and gets very excited. One day as we were walking past a child in the pram, he leaned in and gave her a little kiss!”

William has a little health concern. Shayne explains, “He has an anal gland problem. I suspect with flying and being in the cage away from home, he will not be himself and may have an accident.”

Shayne was relocating to Auckland, New Zealand due to her husband’s illness. She says, “I need more family support at this time, especially since we have a toddler as well. I never considered William to stay here in Australia. He is part of our family and is coming with us.”

International pet relocation is a long process that can be complicated and challenging. Shayne decided to take help from an experienced pet transport agency to help with William’s relocation to New Zealand. Her online research led her to Petraveller and she reached out to the team to handle William’s pet travel to Auckland.

William was a well-behaved boy on his flight from Brisbane to Auckland and made it safely to his destination. Thank you, Shayne, for trusting Petraveller with your precious boy. We wish you good and a happy life ahead with William in New Zealand.
