Zeus and Laura

Melbourne to Auckland

Trip Overview

Owner: Laura Tighe

Origin: Melbourne

Pet Name: Zeus

Destination: Auckland

Breed: Domestic Long Hair

“Petraveller had the best Google ratings.”

Petraveller flew handsome Domestic Long Hair Zeus from Melbourne to Auckland. Here’s proud mum Laura talking about her pet’s personality and what led her to Petraveller for his international pet travel.

Laura made Zeus a part of her family when she adopted him from the Lort Smith animal shelter at the start of 2021. Zeus is a two-year-old kitty. Laura says, “We don’t know much about Zeus, before we got him, he spent a long time in the Lost Dogs Home. He played well with most of the other cats there but being a big boy, he was isolated from the timid cats and kittens. We warmed up to Zeus immediately, and he jumped straight onto our laps for pats and love bites.”

Laura describes Zeus as a curious and sweet cat. She says fondly, “Zeus likes cuddles, playtime with his floppy fish and scratch post. He loves a snooze in the shady parts of the garden.” Laura laughs and continues, “Zeus has massive guts and can be reliably called back inside when we yell out “fiiiish” at dinner time.”

Laura cautions, “Sometimes Zeus tries to lick or bite but won’t hurt. If he’s playing too rough, I gently tap his paw, and he moves it straight away. Zeus gets upset when there are too many people at our house. However, he seems to want to hang out rather than hide. He also gets wide-eyed/rattled, so we put him in his quiet, safe place.”

Laura adds, “Zeus doesn’t wear a collar as it got stuck around his mouth in the first few months of his time with us, which resulted in some small lacerations to his mouth. It was a very stressful experience for the poor little guy, so we have sworn off collars since.”

Laura was moving back home to Auckland to start a family. As Zeus is a part of the family, leaving him behind was never an option for Laura.

Laura wanted her pet to have a smooth and stress-free travel experience during his relocation. Hence, she decided to choose an international pet transport company to handle the entire relocation process. Laura looked online for a trustworthy pet transport company that would help relocate Zeus to Auckland safely. Her search led her to Petraveller, and she reached out them to organise her pet’s move.

Explaining the reason to choose Petraveller, Laura says, “Petraveller had the best Google ratings and quickest response time to my queries. In addition, Petraveller had the nicest customer service people who made me feel comfortable about our fur baby being well looked after.”

Thank you, Laura, for trusting Petraveller with your precious furball and for your kind words of appreciation. We wish you lots of fun, laughter and good times with Zeus in New Zealand.
